SEO Case Study: Home of Engines

Overview


Home of Engines imports used motor engines from the UK and abroad to sell locally in South Africa. When the company approached us in Jan 2021 they had no website and no online presence but wanted to get started and build on their marketing as they went along.

Since the client had very little content for their website when they started out, they opted to have us build a Basic 5x page website for them as a start.

After doing some initial Keyword research it was clear that in order for the website to rank well for relevant searches we would need to create service pages for each car brand that the client could potentially supply engines for.

So for the first 10 months, we created 2 service pages every month along with 2 blog articles that were also keyword driven. For example, we create pages like: ‘Used BMW Engines’ or ‘Used Hyundai Engines’. Along with creating this content every month we also did 5x backlink campaigns each month that were backlinking either to the home page, the service pages, or our articles.

Shortly after the campaign started we saw that the website was beginning to claim rankings for some of our keywords, but they were not yet ranking on the first page of Google yet.


So the first couple of months, we did not see any results in the form of increased traffic, but at around month 4 we started noticing a marked increase in traffic from our efforts.


Since this time, however, we have seen a steady increase in the form of rankings improving and traffic increasing as well.


They are currently ranking no. 1 for ‘Opel Engines’ and are on the first page for a couple of other keywords:




More recently we also boosted their Domain Rating Score from just above 1 to 34 with our Domain Power Booster service:


This has already started to give their website a nice boost as can be seen above where many keywords are starting to move up a few positions at once.

Our work on the SEO front has also boosted their Google Business Profile in terms of its visibility:


Part of this increase has also been because of our Google Maps Ranking service, where we created many backlinks to their Google Business Profile and increased visits through CTR manipulation.

Closing

We certainly do not consider that our work is done, and there are still many keywords on the 2nd page of Google that we will now be working on continuing to push through to the first page of Google. This case study is a good example of the results that can be gotten when one persists with a strategy. Our content creation combined with the continuous creation of backlinks has been the key to their continued growth and success in the market.
